MMS not working from the Live CD Home distribution
Thanks for the information. I will try out both procedures with the home xdesktop manage and business distributions that I have already downloaded and burnt to media.
The other major problem that I have encountered so far is that the MMS - My Multimedia system - will not work from the live cd. It locks up the system and you have to do a hard reboot in order to get the computer working again. Nice concept - looks like the media button in WINDOWS VISTA - but it doesn't work at all. Is that because the live cd has no native access to the hard drive?
Thanks
David
Hi David,
MMS doesn't work with mouse clicks! For more information you can visit :

- MMS uses data under /home/vafeo/demo directory. You can verify that with "thunar" file manager. Thus if you like to use multimedia data you must copy them to one of sub-directories under /home/vafeo/demo (audio, video, ...). In case of data on hard disk, you have to mount the hard disk as explained in last post then do the copy to demo directory. After that MMS will "see" them. This method is not "trite" because you'll loose all data when you leave vd_home environment (reboot for example).
- If you really like MMS I recommand you to install vd_home on hard disk.

Re: MMS not working from the Live CD Home distribution
Hello Franklin
Your suggestions with running MMS from the live cd have worked extremely well when I use a USB drive to access the audio and video files. However I have run into a major problem when I try to use MMS when Vaffeo home has been installed on my system in a dual boot configuration or when I install it on a single hard drive. It simply will not run at all. The program just flashes on the screen and does not run at all. This is in contrast to the live cd where it works properly. Als as noted by Cgris in one of the other posts as a suggestion - full ntfs support would be greatly appreciated in helping to access WINDOWS XP.
Hi David,
With vd_home under a hard drive install, can you try to login with :
Login : vafeo
Passwd : vafeo2007
Then try MMS.Franklin N.
